So I was taking a look at this ship, and I liked some aspects of it, enough to want to model it. I proceeded to google images to find more source images and I can across this. Now I know you have certain Feelings toward SWDA and their work, but my only question here is in the general shape of the ship. Would you concur that the ship is essentially boxy?? I thought by looking at the top view that it would have more of a taper to it. Not to mention you have the cockpit in the front, and they have it over the engines ISD-like. Anyhow, looking at the version here and the SWDA version I see two entirely different shaped ships. Any info to decipher which is which would be great!!

I intensely dislike some members of the SWDA twins, however, I have always respected their work. We have a few different design ideas, but that's about it.

I don't understand the question, surely how I think the ship looks is evident on the page I made for it?

Yes, when your only source image is a silhouette there are going to be many possible interpretations.

Well, my interpretation is the one on my website, SWDA's interpretation is the one on their website.

Sorry, guess I got lost in my own thought process and it didnt come out clearly. I was talking about the side elevation... the SWDA version looks like, essentially, an elongated box. I would picture this ship to taper more towards the front (where you have the cockpit). With the lines it has in the top view it looks too sleek to be an elongated box. But that is just me, if you would picture the ship to have the same side elevation lines, then I could make it work.

Well, upon posting of your 3D maquette images to the Deckplan page I can see we have two complete different versions of this ship. I did go ahead and model the ship using the SWDA version because after studying the possibilities I liked the open front cargo bay (much like many of the larger Air Force cargo planes). There are quite a few cockpit-forward couriers that I chose to go for the different version... But after seeing your maquette I am now drawn to this version (even though it is a cockpit-forward courier). Im tempted to revisit my model and/or remodel it completely. How I would explain the two different Corona versions Im still not too sure of, but I think both could benefit from being fully realized in 3D.

Thanks for including your maquette to the deckplan page... It spurred an urge to model a new ship. (not to mention really cemented your vision for me).

I'm not sure why you'd need to.

It would be for my own categorization... considering I would have two different models of what should be the same ship. I spent a good days work modeling the first ship, I couldnt bring myself to throwing it away completely... so reinventing a new ship (either a different version, later production, or competing model from a different shipwright all together) would be a better justification.

So, then Corona A and Corona B?

Sure, why not?

One could be an updated version of the other... looking at automobiles... a car from the 50s will differ from its counterpart of the same name produced today.
