Having instigated the DZB Starshipwrights Ranking system, I'm considering closing the avatar option to users as the two seem to clutter up the posts. Thoughts, opinions?

Above is the complete rank array so far...

From top left in order -

Technician Assistant
Technician
Senior Technician
Technician Overseer
Design Assistant
Designer
Senior Designer
Lead Designer
Section Manager
General Manager
Senior Manager
Lead Manager
Junior Executive
Executive
Senior Executive
Director

Then four specialist ranks not available via the post count system.

If you feel it clutters up the posts too much, I suggest you rather ditch the rank image. A rank image is just a topping of cream, but an avatar allows fast visual identification of a user, without reading the name. It may sound superficial and the argument is not really about measurable time. More about ease of use. Getting the necessary information at first glance beats reading.

Personally I think the current setup works just fine. You could of course reduce the height of the rank images, to make the whole setup smaller.

I agree with VOID use the Avatars but have the rank image about 3/4 to half the size under the avater.

I have to say, this is one of the more unique ranking systems I've seen online. Does DBZ mean what I think it does? 'Cause I don't watch Dragonball and thus have no idea if it's lifted from somewhere.

EDIT: Wait, wait, that says "DZB" and not "DBZ." Perhaps I caught dyslexia from my filthy American culture.

...I'd still like to know what it stands for. Google won't tell me : /

Devaron Zorbichev Belzediel.

It's the full name of the meta-character version of me, who in-character runs the Stuffyards.

I guess a guy with a name like Flood-Paddock, regal as it may be, will have to outdo his forebearers when naming others.

Actually I adopted it after my best friend, (who used parts of the name in the SWRPG game) died, as a reminder and memento.

I am sorry for your loss and touched that you would instill such things in more than the somber parts of your life.
